Sanzhar Abdikhalyk: Not so. Apparently this particular species is quite widespread throughout the Oriental region. However, it seems to be the bird of the lowlands. I have seen them aplenty in New Delhi, Agra and Bharatpur. But in Goa and Himalayas you get other species [....]

Askar Isabekov: OK. Pavel, please look avibase taxonmy (link), which recognaze refectus as part of species (?) named as Buteo [buteo, refectus, japonicus, bannermani or socotraensis]. Absolutely unclear situation. Why this bird is not japonicus? Good question in my opinion. [....]
